We started Marrakech Bicyclists to replace the coach-window version of Marrakech with something closer to how the city actually feels — from the saddle of an e-bike, guided by someone who grew up here.
Marrakech Bicyclists was founded in Marrakech by Saadi Jamal, a guide who grew up inside the Medina walls and spent years watching visitors move through the city in coaches and walking groups, seeing landmarks but rarely understanding them.
The idea was simple: put people on a comfortable electric bike, keep the group small, and let someone who actually knows the city not a script decide what’s worth stopping for. That idea became Marrakech Autrement, our signature e-bike route connecting the Koutoubia Mosque, Hivernage, the Royal Palace, the Kasbah, the Mellah and Jemaa el-Fna in a single guided ride.
Since then, we’ve kept the same principles: small groups, local guides, premium e-bikes, and routes built around stories rather than checklists.
Every story told on the route is researched and told by guides who grew up in Marrakech, not read off a script.
Electric bikes replace car and van transfers through the Medina, easing traffic and emissions in the old city.
Fitted, tested e-bikes, a full briefing before every ride, and guides trained to lead groups through busy streets.
We route through and support small family businesses, tea vendors and zellige workshops along the way.
Marrakech-born and raised in its Medina, Saadi has guided e-bike tours through the city for years, trained in group safety, first-response basics and e-bike handling in dense traffic. He turns a guided ride into a history lesson — and a history lesson into an afternoon you won’t forget.
“I don’t just show you Marrakech. I want you to leave understanding why it looks the way it does.”
The Marrakech Autrement route was built to bring visibility to parts of the city that rarely see tourism income directly. That shapes how we operate, not just where we ride.
Guides are hired and trained locally, with fair, transparent pay for every tour led.
Our tea break and route near Sidi Daoud support small family-run vendors and zellige workshops.
We cap every tour at 12 riders, by design, to keep the experience personal and the impact light
